To me the Klotz Joe Bonamassa cable is like listening to a classic blues Chess record (which I think is a good thing). I would class the Evidence Audio Lyric as having fantastic clarity with a slight Hifi quality to the tone. With regards to the comparison of the cables: So much so that I'm going to slightly reduce the size of my pedalboard even more & also I'm going to add a bypass pedal near the front of of the signal chain.īUT I'm also going to start going straight into my amp more than I have been. I think owning & using these EA Lyric cable for 99% of the time over the last 10 years says something!Īlso as I'm normally playing through a smallish pedalboard I forgot how liberating it was just to go straight into an amp again. I think on this thread I've been a little harsh on the EA Lyric & certainly appreciate the cable more now. I have to say though I've got to give the Evidence Audio a lot of credit as the clarity of these in comparison to the Klotz there certainly is a difference, with the Klotz being slightly darker. The Klotz is certainly different to the Evidence Audio Lyric cable which took a little adjusting to but are really liking the Klotz cable now. Having tested the 3 meter Klotz Bonamassa cable I have to say the more I am using the cable the more impressed I am.

I use them mainly at home when I'm experimenting with pedal order, testing a new to me pedal, or know that a given patch cable is going to experience meaningful wear (get jostled by others unusually).Ī few days back I bought 2 sets of Klotz Joe Bonamassa cables a set of 3 meters & a set of 6 meters. They seem super robust and don't color tone unduly.
The big Fulltone patch cables are surprisingly good and cheap if you don't care about footprint. I mainly use the SIS when I need very unusual lengths (typically longer than normal patch cables) in my studio (e.g., I connect my Moogerfoogers to my Pedal Pallettes with SIS). huge sound and frequency spectrum precise, powerful delivery. I'm skeptical of MXR cables given the dull and dark patch cables that I still own from them (got in a bundle deal). (I prefer a brighter more transparent cable. Switching away from Spectraflex was the only time that I really felt like my tone got meaningfully better due to a cable swap.
